Planet Earth 2 Producers Reveal The Moment They Feared For Their Lives During Filming Tonight’s Episode

I think anyone who has ever watched Planet Earth or a nature documentary involving dangerous animals of any kind has probably wondered how the filming crew manage to keep themselves safe.

And it has been revealed that tonight’s episode of Planet Earth 2 will show a harrowing fight scene which the crew feared for their lives while recording.

The episode centres around how wildlife has adapted to life with humans, and shows how hyenas live amongst people in Ethiopia but it took a terrifying turn when the crew felt they were at risk.

During filming the crew became surrounded by 100 vicious, fighting hyenas.

Episode producer, Fredi Devas told the Mirror, “I’ve always found hyenas to be quite terrifying animals. In Harar in Ethiopia one night, we were surrounded by more than a hundred of them, fighting.”

“They were fighting on the outskirts of town to see who’d gain access to the city. They’re the second-largest land predator in Africa after the lion,” he said.

Terrifying.

And we complain about our day jobs?
