Prepare for a cold week as temperatures drop to -2 tonight

Rory Cashin

Several days this week will see temperatures drop a few degrees below freezing.

Brrr, you guys! BRRR!

Yep, we’ve all noticed the sudden drop in temperature today, and that is mostly because the rain (and clouds) were keeping the heat in, but now that we’ve got a few clear days and nights ahead of us, you can expect the cold to come, and it will be staying for a few days, at least.

Met Eireann forecast temperatures to drop to as low as -2 tonight (Wednesday, November 25), with the middle of the country set to get the brunt of the cold.

Thursday will see fog remain in Leinster for much of the day, with temperatures not to get much above 4 or 5 degrees during the day, before dropping to -1 that night.

Friday during the day will be a cold one again – lots of fog and mist – before dropping to -2 once again that night, with the east of the country expected to get the lowest temperatures, as well as widespread frost.

Saturday will see some rain in the south of the country, which means it’ll be a little warmer down there during the day, but the rest of the country will stay pretty cold, before that night sees a dip to -1 again.

Beyond that, Met Eireann predict that it will be “settled and cool for the early days of next week.”

Stay warm, folks!
