We were told that this day would come and we didn’t believe them – whoever ‘they’ really are.
The whole of Ireland will be on lock down tomorrow. An automatic red alert means that schools will be cancelled because the buses won’t run.
It also means that tomorrow, the first day in March will see the whole country get a snow day.
A Status Red Snow-Ice warning was issued at 11pm by Met Éireann for all 32 counties and they state that further heavy snow showers will bring accumulations of significant levels with all areas at risk.
“Blizzard conditions will develop from the south Thursday afternoon and evening as heavy snow and strong easterly winds bring snow drifts northwards over the country. Eastern and southern coastal counties will be worst affected.”
It is valid immediately and will remain in place until 3pm on Friday 2nd of March.
