If you thought that we were over the worst of snow, that is certainly not the case as Met Éireann has issued an updated Status Red Weather Warning for five counties, Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow and Meath.
They expect “showers to be more scattered this afternoon and early evening, but further heavy snow showers are expected overnight with significant accumulations.”
The warning was issued at 3pm on Wednesday and is in place immediately until 12pm on Thursday.
This follows on from the red alert that was issued for all of Leinster and Munster earlier today with several Status Orange weather warnings in place for other counties also.
You can find a full list of the weather warnings on the Met Éireann website.
