On Sunday night, Ireland’s Grand Slam triumph at the weekend was in danger of being overshadowed by Sports Minister Shane Ross mixing up the Kearney brothers in a photo taken at the Shelbourne Hotel.
Mr. Ross took to Twitter to welcome home Johnny Sexton and Dave Kearney when the Kearney in question was actually Rob. The whole fiasco led to a brilliant headline (below) by the Irish Daily Star on Monday.

Rob took the gaffe well replying ‘you’re welcome, Leo’ underneath Minister Ross’ tweet, and yesterday he went one further when announcing that he had signed a new contract with the IRFU.
In a post on Instagram, the full-back wrote: ‘Delighted to have signed on with @leinsterrugby and @irishrugby until November 19’ – lots done, more to do!! Cheers, Dave.’
Burn! Ireland awaits your response Mr. Varadkar, I mean Mr. Ross.
