RTÉ News Asked People To Wish Leo Varadkar A Happy Birthday And It Didn’t End Well

Kiara Keane

Today is Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s 40th birthday and to mark the occasion, RTÉ News went out and asked members of the public to share their thoughts on him and wish him a happy birthday.

This went about as well as could be expected, with several members of the public having less than positive things to say about him.

One woman simply remarked, “I thought he was older,” before walking away laughing.

One man who was approached commented, “No, no happy birthday to him. Up the nurses.”

While another man who had no idea who the journalist was asking him about responded with, “I personally don’t know him. Who is he? Where is he from?”

When he was told it was the Taoiseach they were talking about, he replied, “I’ve no faith in the government to be honest with you. You see the homeless everywhere. I couldn’t care less what age the guy is, whoever he is, the Taoiseach.”
