RTÉ confirmed on Wednesday that Ryan Tubridy’s contract with the broadcaster has “come to an end” following controversy over his wages.

Revealing the news in a statement, the national broadcaster said that negotiations regarding his Radio One show have been paused due to the payments scandal.

His most recent contract with RTÉ began in July 2020 and was due to end in March 2025.

“Ryan Tubridy stood down from the Late Late Show in May. RTÉ has written to his agent that the contract including all arrangements therein has come to an end,” the statement said.

“Negotiations had commenced regarding his radio responsibilities. Those negotiations have been paused as with all negotiations as per Board statement.”

The former Late Late Show host has not been on air this week as the situation with his pay continues to unfold.

Speaking in a statement on Friday, Ryan said he was “disappointed” in the decision to put his show on hold.
