The venue has said the situation was ‘out of their hands’
Some S Club 7 fans were left disappointed after just one member of the pop group turned up to perform at a sold-out gig.
Tina Barrett, 46, and Bradley McIntosh, 41, had been scheduled to play at Wyld, a 150-capacity venue in Newport, Isle of Wight. Tickets for the gig cost £23 and were snapped up by fans in under 90 seconds.
But on the night, Tina had to pull out due to a scheduling clash, meaning that only Bradley performed.
Fans heard hits including Don’t Stop Movin’ and S Club Party, and Bradley posed for pictures, but some were still left extremely disappointed.
Commenting on Facebook, one person said: “What a let down. Turned up to find out they can’t perform as S Club as they’ve signed a contract and no Tina. Happy to take everyone’s money though.”
Bradley’s appearance followed the announcement earlier this month of S Club 7’s reunion tour later this year.
The group confirmed they would be going on a reunion tour at arenas across the UK and Ireland in October to celebrate 25 years since they formed.
After being formed in 1998, S Club 7 became one of one of the biggest bands in the country as they shot to fame in the late 90s and early 2000s.
The group landing four UK number ones with ‘Bring It All Back’, ‘Never Had A Dream Come True’, ‘Don’t Stop Movin’, and ‘Have You Ever’, as well as the UK number one album ‘7’.
