He will always be our Stanford Blatch

We were devastated to wake up to the news that Willie Garson has died at age 57. He is known for his role as fashion icon Stanford Blatch, one of Carrie’s best friends, in the Sex and the City series and subsequent films. He was also filming scenes for the reboot And Just Like That up until recently.

Garson’s son Nathen took to Instagram to share the news of his father’s passing. In an emotional caption he said, “I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own.”

Sex and the City stars took to Instagram to share their condolences, including Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda Hobbes, Chris Noth who plays Mr. Big, and Mario Cantone, who plays his on-screen husband Anthony Marentino.

Garson posted on Twitter just two weeks ago to spread a message about love, which speaks to the kind man he was.

Garson acted prolifically, appearing in shows such as Hawaii Five-0, White Collar, Supergirl, and many more. Our condolences go out to his friends and family at this difficult time. We will always remember him for the iconic part he played in the series, and he will be sorely missed.
