Conor McGregor has made more than €1 million available to ensure Ireland’s frontline workers have access to more personal protective equipment amid the country’s fight against Covid-19.
McGregor’s very generous donation was first announced by Dublin entrepreneur, Doug Leddin.
Taking to social media on Saturday afternoon, Doug revealed how the UFC superstar made more than €1 million available to source, purchase and distribute crucial PPE supplies.

McGregor has made his opinions on Ireland’s fight against coronavirus quite clear in recent days, criticising the Government’s stance on airports and ports in a lengthy Twitter thread on Friday night.
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion is putting his hand in his pocket to ensure that the frontline staff of his country have the equipment necessary to continue to do their tireless work in the safest way possible.
Next week, a significant amount of PPE will be delivered around Ireland thanks to McGregor’s donation.
Responding to Saturday’s successful delivery of PPE based on his donation, McGregor thanked public health nurse, national coordinator for nurse/midwife safety and founder of Heroes Aid, Mary Leahy, for her efforts.
The Notorious tweeted: “Thank you for all your assistance here Mary and to Heroes aid. I got a good boost this morning seeing our work come to fruition with multiple deliveries made. Hope you are well. Tough 3 weeks ahead, stay strong!”
