Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Katie Taylor’s Big Fight Tonight

James Fenton

Katie Taylor’s budding professional boxing career continues tonight as she takes to the ring to face Nina Meinke.

Meinke, who hails from Germany, is similar to Katie in that she only turned professional recently.

The clash between Ireland’s golden girl and her opponent is part of the undercard for the much-anticipated duel between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium.

Katie’s fight, which is for the WBA Intercontinental belt, is expected to get underway around 7pm with TV coverage on Sky Sports Box Office starting at 6pm.

The full card is available to order for €24.95 in the Republic of Ireland or if you’re not bothered doing that then what better excuse to go to the pub?

The fight will be the fifth of Taylor’s professional career and she will look to defend a 100% record having already clocked up four wins out of four. A win tonight should see the Olympic gold medalist challenge for the World Title belt, which is currently held by Uruguay’s Cecilia Comunales.

90,000 people are expected to fill the arena in what would be a post-war record for a fight in Britain.

Show ’em what you’re made of, Katie!
