Katie Taylor Set For November Title Shot In Dublin

James Fenton

It looks likely that Katie Taylor will get her first shot at a professional world title this November in Dublin, according to her promoter.

Katie now has four wins out of four in her professional career having easily disposed of Bulgarian opponent Milena Koleva in Manchester on Saturday.

However, the Bray native’s promoter Eddie Hearn feels that a trip to America beforehand would be beneficial, telling reporters:

“Ireland is realistic for her first world title fight, but I think she needs to go and have a fight in America.

Then go off and have the summer off and then come back and have one more warm-up fight and then fight for the world title.

So three fights, tops, before she fights for a world title.”

The Olympic gold medalist has taken to her pro career like a duck to water so it seems to only be a matter of time before something is confirmed.

If a title fight does take place in Dublin, we’re guessing the 3 Arena will be the venue and the atmosphere would be pretty amazing.

Let’s just hope this gets signed and sealed sooner rather than later. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.
