All in all, it was a tough night at the Aviva.
It was an easy shift for both goalkeepers, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw but the big shock of the night was the devastating tackle on captain Seamus Coleman.
Martin O’Neill confirmed in a post-match interview with RTÉ that Coleman suffered a bad break, with Neil Taylor received an immediate red card.
However, the incident did showcase one positive thing – the bond between the players – as Shane Long rushed to comfort Coleman in the aftermath.
