The rainfall warning is spread across two days this week.

Earlier today we reported that Met Éireann issued a forecast of hail, flooding and thunderstorms throughout the coming week.

Since then, the Irish meteorological service has issued a specific status yellow rainfall warning to ten counties in Ireland.

The warning was issued today (Tuesday, October 27), but won’t be in effect until 12.01am on Thursday, October 29, and will remain in place until 6am on Friday, October 30.

The warning is in place for Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

Met Eireann stated the following:

“Heavy and persistent rain overnight Wednesday through to Friday morning will lead to some flooding and disruption.

“Accumulations of 30mm to 60mm are expected widely, with higher values in mountainous regions.”
