‘Strong Gusts’ Throughout The Weekend As 13 Counties Are Hit With Weather Warnings

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning to 13 Irish counties with strong gusts expected throughout the weekend.

The counties in question are Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford. The warning is valid from 8pm on Saturday until 9am on Sunday and is expected to bring ‘Northwest winds, mean speeds 55 to 65 km/h, and gusts between 90 and 110 km/h.’

Carlow Weather has backed up this forecast by posting ‘We have a system tracking over us Saturday night to get through with strong gusts from late Saturday night into Sunday.’

Moving into next week, the site has predicted some ‘hard frosts along with a chance of some wintry spells.’
