Take a bite out of THIS brand strategy…

It’s crunch time for the future of Tayto Park as the Irish nation holds its breath in anticipation of the brand new name the popular, Meath-based attraction.

Back in February, the sobering news arrived that Ireland’s most well-known theme park named after an anthropomorphic crisp man would be getting a new identity, due to the dissolving of the sponsorship between Tayto Snacks and Tayto Park.

And now, it has been confirmed that from the first of January in 2023, the theme park and zoo will be henceforth known as Emerald Park.

“Ireland is often referred to as the Emerald Isle by international visitors, and Meath is known throughout Ireland for its lush green countryside, so the new name has relevance and resonance,” notes an official statement.

“A name change, and all it involves, is challenging but the team is looking forward to embracing a new era with a new identity.”

Commenting further, Tayto Park – as it is currently known – general manager Charles Coyle revealed that the public played a huge part in selecting the new moniker.

“When we announced that the name of the park would change, we were inundated with ideas from the public and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm,” said Coyle.

“We commissioned a piece of research and Emerald Park was the clear favourite. We will start next year with a new name and new brand throughout the park.”

The park is currently in the process of trying to attract new strategic brand partners, while Charles Coyle seeks to continue his late father Raymond’s legacy.

Earlier this year, the park broke ground on two new steel rollercoasters, with a reported budget of €30 million attached.
