Grab that suncream and dust off the sandals lads and lassies, 'cos some decent weather is finally expected to come our way.

After what is officially* the longest winter EVER (*ask anyone, it's true alright?), the news that sun is fiiiiinally predicted has us schweatin' just thinking about it.

Met Eireann predict highs of up to 18 degrees in parts of the country, saying that Wednesday will be warm and mainly dry with sunny spells, the best of these in the east, with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees with fresh southerly breezes.

It's Thursday that will see the warmest day (hint hint take the day off)...

"Thursday will be warm and mainly dry with sunny spells in most areas. It will be a bit cloudier in the west with a risk of some rain or drizzle along the coast. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with light southwest breezes."

We won't even mind seeing our colleagues walking around in tank tops and socks 'n' sandals.

It's what we've all been waiting for... So don't you dare utter the words "it's too hot."
