Temperatures Set To Drop With Plenty Of Rain On The Way This Weekend

You might want to dig out your jumper and brolly this weekend – an end to the hot weather is on the way with long showers of heavy rain and cold weather expected. Yep, sadly it looks like today’s rain isn’t going to be a one-off.

Met Éireann has said that temperatures could drop as low as 13C in parts of the country – a far cry from the lovely 25C weather we saw earlier this week.

The forecaster said: “Friday will be mostly cloudy but dry to start in the east and south. Rain will develop early in the west and spread eastwards to all areas of the country through the morning and early afternoon, possibly becoming heavy for a time before clearing through in the evening.

“Saturday will be mostly dry with sunny spells for much of the country. In the northeast and north a few showers will develop in the afternoon. These will gradually die out in the late afternoon and early evening. Highest temperatures of 15C to 17C with mainly moderate westerly breezes.

It seems the worst of the weather will be arriving on Sunday though, with heavy rain expected in the south.

They continued: “Sunday will start off dry. However, rain will spread quickly from the west through the afternoon and evening, possibly heavy in the south for a time. Highest temperatures of 15C to 19C with light to moderate southerly breezes.”
