The best news? Ellie only costs €5. Proceeds from each sale will go towards Temple Street.
Earlier in the year, the Children's Hospital ran a competition on who was to name the 2021 Christmas teddy, with Ellie Collins from Limerick reigning as the winner. She very aptly named the elephant after herself. Ellie suffered from kidney failure as an infant, spending a lot of time on dialysis. Thankfully, she received a kidney donation from her mother Jackie this year.

Communications Director of Tesco Ireland, Rosemary Garth, says:
"It is a privilege to introduce Ellie the Elephant to customers this Christmas. Each year, we are truly inspired by the incredible work of the team in CHI at Temple Street, who do fantastic work for children 365 days a year. We’re very proud to see the impact the generous donations from our customers and colleagues make for the hospital. This year, we’re asking customers to continue their amazing support by purchasing an Ellie the Elephant in Tesco stores nationwide this festive season."
Since their partnership in 2014, Tesco has helped raise €6.5 million for Children's Health Foundation Temple Street.
