If you have purchased any of the above batches of the supermarket's own-brand pesto with best before dates prior to November 1, 2022 and if you suffer with a peanut allergy, it is advised to err on the side of caution and not consume the pesto as it may contain traces of peanuts.
A brief statement on the Food Safety Authority of Ireland website reads: "Tesco is recalling batches of four varieties of its pesto products listed above, as they may contain peanut which is not declared on the label. This may make the implicated batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of peanut or its constituents."
