That Amazing 12-Year-Old Busker On Grafton St Turned Down An Appearance On The Ellen Show

An amazing busker from Cork, Allie Sherlock is possibly one of the most talented 12-year-old’s in the country right now, and now she’s even caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres.

The Evening Echo reports that Allie turned down an appearance on the Ellen Show after going viral from her cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Supermarket Flowers’ which received over 1 million views in just one week.

Allie covers musicians such as Ed Sheeran, Adele, Shawn Mendes and Alicia Keys, and onlookers are legit shocked when they hear her voice.

Allie told the Evening Echo that she’s been playing guitar for three and a half years, but doesn’t want to be a professional musician.

“I don’t want it to be a professional career but I’d like to do it, just as a hobby. I’d like to do childcare because my auntie owns a creche,” she said.

“I want to keep practising all the time and singing and so it’s like a hobby really. Maybe I’ll do weddings. I’d like to see what happens in the future before deciding anything,” she added.

Her dad Mark said that he just wants her to enjoy playing and not feel any pressure.

“There’s been a few people on to us about different things. She had the Ellen Show in America contact her but she’s only 12 and she just enjoys a bit of busking,” he says.

With talent like that we’d imagine the interest in Allie is only going to increase as she gets older, she’s got one incredible voice.
