Ireland is set to bathed in sunshine this weekend, with the highest temperatures of 2021 expected.

After a drizzly and misty day today, highs of 21 degrees are expected over the weekend with Met Éireann saying that ‘Saturday will be a very mild or warm day with good sunny spells breaking through. However, isolated showers will develop too. Highest temperatures will range 15 to 20 or 21 degrees Celsius, best values inland. Winds will be just light variable, though local sea breezes will develop.’

On Sunday, meanwhile, ‘most areas will be dry and warm with good sunny spells. Highest temperatures will generally range 19 to 21 degrees Celsius, in just light southerly or variable breezes. Not quite as warm across parts of the south and west coast, but nonetheless still very mild here with above average maxima.’

The highest recorded temperature so far this year was 21.2 degrees, recorded at Valentia in Kerry on April 1. A full outlook for the coming days can be found here.
