There's some good news today as weather experts have announced that temperatures are to get positively balmy from this afternoon onward. Well, balmy compared to the Baltic nonsense we've had recently anyway.
A Met Éireann forecaster has said that "temperatures this afternoon will typically range between 5C and 7C in the north and east, and between 8C and 10C in the west and south.
"Rain will turn heavy and more widespread overnight and moderate to fresh southerly winds will veer south west.
"Temperatures will rise overnight to between 7C and 9C in the north and between 9C and 11C in the south."
Friday is set to be a day for the umbrellas with heavy rain in the morning, which should clear just in time for the afternoon and continuing on the sunny spells through Saturday.
Make the most of the temperature change and start planning those outside walks now.
