There’s ‘snow chance’ of a white Christmas this year, according to Met Eireann forecaster Jean Byrne.
Although it happened in 2009 and 2010, the weather expert thinks it’s pretty unlikely it will happen again.
“To put it in context, it has only happened 12 times in 71 years,” she told the Irish Mirror.
“Our weather tends to come in from the Atlantic and we tend to have wind and rain.
“It can happen but we won’t know until 10 days ahead. It’s as likely as one year as the next.”
Odds of snow falling on Christmas day in Dublin currently stand at 5/1 with Paddy Power.
