TD Trumps.
Last month, Robert Troy inducted himself to the Irish Meme Hall of Fame by managing to forget that he owned 11 properties (we’ve all been there) and with his now infamous resignation statement, in which he proclaimed “I personally will not apologise for being a landlord”.
The discovery that a TD was in possession of a small army of undeclared properties, some lying vacant in the midst of a housing crisis was depressing, but for most people, unsurprising. In fact, the general consensus was “I’m sure he’s not the only one”. As Troy announced his resignation, the people of Ireland quietly waited for similar revelations about other TDs to emerge.
And now, Twitter account Estate Of Us is delivering the goods, with TD-themed top trump cards revealing how many rental properties each member of Dáil Éireann owns.
Additional information provided includes constituency, votes on housing policy and neck type (which, in the case of Michael Healy Rae falls under “Aoife McGregor’s Dog Groomer”).
The undisputed lord of the landlord TDs with an astonishing 18 properties <drumroll please>… it’s “man of the people” @MHealyRae👏#TheEstateOfUs #HousingCrisis #TDTrumps pic.twitter.com/0wmUGDzowU

Healy Rae has been named as “Lord of the landlord TDs” with a whopping 18 rental properties and an estimated wealth of over €6 million.
Also in the deck you’ll find Independent TD Sean Canney (four rental properties and a neck “like a jockey’s b****x”) and Fine Gael TD Paul Kehoe (three rental properties and a neck “like an ox”) to name a few.
Last one for today (promise).
This one’s not a Robert Troy beater by any stretch of the imagination, but @seancanney has got some impressive stats all the same. #TheEstateOfUs #HousingCrisis #gottacatchemall pic.twitter.com/oZhr7WnW5E
