These Are Ireland’s Favourite Holiday Destinations At Home And Abroad

Seven out of ten of us say we’ll plan a holiday this summer, according to a new survey by iReach.

Spain is still our number one destination abroad with 39% of adults choosing to holiday there but Portugal (19%), Italy (13%), England (12%) and France (9%) also proved popular.

The recent survey of 1,000 adults found that the vast majority (72%) of people in Ireland are planning to go on holidays this summer.

15% of those said they’d opt for a stay-cation this year. When it comes to destinations at home, over a third of us said we’d prefer to visit County Kerry.

A quarter of people said they’d rather a visit to Galway while Cork (22%), Mayo (22%) and Wexford (20%) were also popular areas.

Of those who say they’ll spend summer holidays here in Ireland, 49% will go to the beach, 37% will visit family and friends and 18% will do some house or garden work.
