New figures released by the Central Statistics Office today say there are now 41 towns across the country who boast a population of 10,000 or more.
Saggart in South County Dublin was named the fastest growing town in Ireland. The population of the South Dublin area sky-rocketed by over 46% since April 2011.

Drogheda remains the largest town in the country. The number of people living in the County Louth area jumped by 6% to almost 41,000 over the last five years.
The next biggest was Swords in County Dublin followed by another town in County Louth – Dundalk.
Ennis remains the largest town in Munster, Sligo is the biggest in Connacht and Letterkenny tops the list when it comes to towns in Ulster.
