Do you think you’re a good person?
Do you ever think that perhaps you could even be a better person than others? Your friends, your family, your bae… are they as good of a person as you are?
According to a study in the journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science the majority of us do think we’re morally better than others.
Yup, people strongly believe that they are just, virtuous and moral, and in turn see others as inferior.
People also tend to rate themselves more highly than others when it comes to modesty.
Further developments in the study revealed that most people fail to use reason when evaluating character traits in themselves and others.
People were most likely to be irrational when it came to traits that they considered desirable ― especially moral traits, the researchers found.
So if you’ve always believed yourself to be a totally selfless and modest angel, think again.
Also, if you do good deeds just for the sake of the good karma you may receive in return, think again, ‘cos that ain’t how karma works.
