Kildare duo and internet sensations Picture This have revealed that they have just recently signed a huge deal with major record label, Republic – responsible for the likes of The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Hailee Steinfeld.
So, yeah, the lads are in pretty good hands.
The two musicians, Ryan Hennessy (21) and Jimmy Rainsford (22), hail from Athy, County Kildare, and formed Picture This last October.
They sold out their first ever gig at The Academy earlier this month within 15 minutes.
The modest duo attribute their incredible success up to having their own sound and believing in everything they perform.
In an interview with Buzz.ie, they said:
We were in New York for an organised showcase gig, not thinking much of it. We had four offers the next day. We organised a meeting with Republic and a few other labels of course. We played for the Republic team in their office.
We have our own sound and they saw that straight away. It’s raw, real music. The lyrics are raw, real lyrics about our lives and the town we live in. They were sold straight away. They loved everything about us.
The band are currently enjoying playing a festival and gig music circuit around Ireland, but something tells us they’re destined for a more far-flung success very soon…
