It’s fair to say that if you offered us a €1,000,000 cheque to go through the Leaving Cert again, we’d firmly turn it down without a second thought.
The LC is essentially an intelligence endurance test and the moment of truth arrived for over 50,000 young students around the country earlier today.
While most of us are happy to scrape the number of points required for our first choice, there are some students who are aiming for an even higher achievement of top scores across the board.
And there was THIRTEEN people across Ireland who were greeted by the sight of 8 H1s (or A1a, as they used to be called in our day) when they opened their results sheet today – up from seven last year.
According to The Irish Independent, a further 63 students received 7H1s – up from 47 last year.
An incredible achievement – fair play to them all!
