The average Irish household will spend a whopping €2,587 this December, according to a new study.
Retail Ireland has just released its Christmas Retail Report 2016 outlining the costs of the silly season for families around the country and it shows we'll be spending €26 more than we did last year.
Researchers found various factors contributed to this increased expenditure, such as the rise in employment, increasing disposable income, and fluctuations in the sterling causing Irish retailers to cut prices in an effort to deter shoppers from shopping north of the border.
