This Is Not A Drill – This Exotic Island Is Looking For Homes For Its Many Puppies

clodagh

Nothing will melt your heart on this average Tuesday like a story about puppies looking for a home.

If you travel to the Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands just south of the Bahamas, that’s just what you’ll find.

Potcake Place is non-profit charity that aims to rehome the local dogs of the areas, potcakes.

Potcakes, named after the cake that the locals traditionally fed the feral dogs, are “extremely smart, loyal and loving” dogs.

The islands are over-populated with the lovable potcakes, and the charity aims to give them a new home.

The charity does insane work trying to rehome the dogs, even organising their adoptions, flying with the dogs and meeting their new families at the airport.

So you can come for a holiday, and leave with a fluffy friend.

Even if you can’t adopt, the centre is very open to visitors coming to interact and play with the dogs (and cats).

Excuse me while I have a little cry over these gorgeous little guys.
