This Worrying Video Shows People Swimming In The Sea At Salthill

Hurricane Ophelia rages on and people are continuing to ignore warnings from emergency services to stay away from the coast.

Several people have been spotted swimming in the sea in Salthill, Co Galway - as seen in these videos posted to Twitter by user Ryan Crowell.

Gardai have had to patrol the pier to stop people walking and swimming, according to RTE reporter Teresa Mannion.

Earlier today two kite-surfers had to be rescued when they got into difficulty off the coast of Blackrock in Louth.
