A national campaign in support of the Repeal the 8th movement has raised a huge €322,000 in just one day through their online crowdfunding campaign.
At the time of writing, the amount raised was €319,000 which had already increased to €323,000 by the time of publication.
Together for Yes is the national campaign to remove the 8th Amendment from the Irish Constitution.
They “are campaigning for a more compassionate Ireland that allows abortion care for women who need it”, and are now aiming to raise €400,000 this week which will provide 40,000 posters.
We’ve reached our target of €150,000! We’re running out of ways to say THANK YOU, so instead, we’re asking you to help us reach €250,000 for 25,000 posters! #together4yes https://t.co/7NZK5JWL9A pic.twitter.com/p5pJ4bfMoG

Together for Yes had an original target of €50,000 which was absolutely smashed within hours, and those behind the campaign have thanked everyone who donated so far, saying that “the majority of people in Ireland want change, and today you proved it.”
We shot this thank you video with our Directors earlier – it’s already totally outdated but THANK YOU! We have now hit €200,000 from 5374 people – an average of about €37 per person! This is just Day One of our crowdfunding – help us reach €250,000! https://t.co/7NZK5JWL9A pic.twitter.com/OEkUwIwzLa
