Two young offenders are ‘at large’ and on the run following an escape from Oberstown Detention Campus in Malheney, County Dublin last night.

According to the Irish Times, three youths broke out of the facility last night and one of the trio was caught by Gardaí.

Minister for Children Katherine Zappone has confirmed that the other two are still at large.

It’s being reported that the three youths took over a staff office at the facility last night, attacking Director Pat Bergin who sustained a ”small injury”.

Minister Zappone admitted that these things just sometimes happen:

“There is always a risk for these things to happen but I’m hopeful that the young people will be returned.”
