A new study carried out by researchers at the University of Westminster has revealed that not only can horror movies boost your mood but also actually help you lose weight. This is because during a scary movie your body...

  • Releases adrenalin
  • This triggers the body's "fight or flight" response system
  • When this happens the body automatically starts burning fat reserves

In fact, watching a 90-minute scary film can burn up to 113 calories, which is the same as a 30-minute walk. What's more, the body is also likely to release more white blood cells which boosts the immune system.
