The Warm Weather Could Be Sticking Around Until Mid-July

Sun, sun, Mr. golden sun.

Met Éireann forecasters think the warm weather could last until mid-July and the June record of 32° could be broken on Friday.

Joanna Donnelly says that the record reached on Thursday at Shannon could be broken as it was already 16°at 9 am.

She also said that several locations didn’t drop below 13° on Thursday night.

People are being warned to stay out of the sun between 11 am – 3 pm on Friday.

According to the Irish Sun, The Donegal Weather Channel said the weather models show the heat lasting for another 10 days.

They said: “The ECMWF model has the warm weather staying put over Ireland over the next week to ten days with temperatures in the low twenties to mid twenties over next week.”

“It will not be as warm as this week where temperatures got up into the 30s.”

“Next week will be a little cooler than this week but still warm with nice sunshine in the forecast and a little rain later in the week but amount still well below average going by the ECMWF model.”

“Around July 7 or 8, the ECMWF model show the possibility tonight that another area of high pressure will sit over Ireland with another airflow from mainland Europe bring temperatures back up into the mid to high twenties.”

Don’t bother packing away the shorts, lads.
