It’s bitterly cold outside today, with weather warnings in place for low temperatures, snow and ice.

Icy roads and dangerous conditions have been reported around Ireland.

A hail shower earlier this morning is causing problems in Galway and Clare and there have been crashes on the M6, M18 and M18.

There’s black ice on the roads in Donegal on the N13 Letterkenny/Derry Road at Manorhamilton and on approaches to Buncrana on the R238.

The Sherlockstown Road (Sallins/Straffan Road) by Bodenstown Golf Club in Kildare is also dangerous at the moment.

AA Roadwatch has warned drivers to take care, defrost their cars and remember that stopping distances are longer on frost and ice.
