Firefighters were quick to the scene down in Wexford, where a blaze broke out at the at the back of two local pubs – The Sky & The Ground and The Foggy Dew.
Capturing the extent of the damage the flames have caused, journalist Pádraigh Byrne shared a video on Twitter, writing:
“A video which shows the extent of the damage to The Foggy Dew pub in #Wexford town following this morning’s fire. Thankfully nobody hurt, but thoughts go out to all those impacted at what is already a difficult time.”

Confirming that thankfully, everyone was safely evacuated, it’s believed that the fire broke out in the town centre at around 9am this morning. Five local units of the fire brigade rushed to the scene where the blaze was brought under control. Wexford County Council has since confirmed that the fire has been fully extinguished, however, South Main Street will remain closed to allow authorities to finish working.
David Minogue of @wexfordcoco says the fire has now been extinguished but South Main Street will remain closed for a little longer as crews finish up their work. The fire was mainly contained in the Foggy Dew pub and confirms there were no injuries.#Wexford
