Fika Rooftop Bar becomes the latest restaurant to close its door while the current coronavirus situation remains so uncertain.

Those days post Christmas are often some of the busiest for hospitality. However with rising coronavirus cases, as well as restrictions such as the 8pm curfew, there has been a major spanner thrown in the works for restaurants and bars this year. All over the country, sections of hospitality are opting to close temporarily until things calm down, hopefully in February.

Fika Rooftop restaurant took to Instagram after Christmas to explain why they hadn’t reopened, and apologised to those who held reservations.

The Instagram caption states:

Unfortunately due to the current situation we are unable to reopen tomorrow. It’s been a funny aul year for us and it’s no surprise we have to end it this way. Thanks to all our customers, old & new for coming in to us this year and a huge Thankyou to our amazing staff for all their hard work! We hope to reopen in February 2022 if it is safe to do so.”

The current restrictions on hospitality will likely be reviewed in January. We hope to see Fika back up and running as normal as soon as possible!
