Thunderstorms Are Set To Hit Parts Of The Country This Weekend

Time to batten down the hatches

Lightning Strike

If you'd made any outdoor plans this weekend you may want to revise them, as Met Éireann has issued a yellow rain warning across the country.

Munster and Ulster are set to get off lightly with a mostly dry and bright morning, while Leinster and Connacht should expect a lot of rainfall early in the day.

It's in Leinster and Connacht where isolated thunderstorms may crop up.

The early afternoon should clear up a bit, but rain is expected to return in the late afternoon. The highest temperatures will be 11 to 14 degrees.

This evening will have even longer spells of rain and a higher risk of thunderstorms. Temperatures then will be about 5 to 8 degrees.
