Batten down the hatches.
Weather experts are predicting that Ireland is in for a battering this winter and it could be happening sooner than you think.
According to the Independent.ie, stormy weather patterns are due to arrive as early as the second half of October.
To make matters worse, it looks like we won't be having the much sought-after white Christmas this year as Alan Reppert of American-based weather agency warned:
"Above normal rainfall across the UK and Ireland will result in another winter of flooding problems while a lack of cold air will limit the snowfall throughout the season."
So, it looks like another winter of flooding and high winds but without the joy of seeing a blanket of snow on the front lawn on December 25th.
You've been warned.
