We hope you enjoyed some sunshine over the weekend because that might be the last you see of it for a while.
Met Éireann is forecasting a very erratic week in the weather department, with wet and windy weather set to take hold from as early as tomorrow. The experts’ outlook says that it will be ‘wet and windy for the remainder of the week with heavy rain and showers, accompanied by strong and gusty winds at times.’
As well as that, Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather has speculated that there’s potential for Storm Evert to be named on Wednesday, with gusty winds and heavy rain expected. The windy weather will continue into Thursday with ‘some of hail and thunder’ and the unsettled weather is expected to last right into the upcoming weekend.
Will be interesting to see if this storm Wednesday gets a name. Storm #Evert is next name on the list, Met Éireann along with UK Met Office could name it as it will likely impact Britain too. The last named storm was Darcy and it was named by the Dutch Met Service. pic.twitter.com/JmT0OZHYhX
