Wicklow Mountains Murder Victim Named As A ‘Loving Grandmother’

A woman whose dismembered remains have been found in Wicklow over the past few days has been named as grandmother Patricia O’Connor. 

According to the Irish Independent, she had been reported missing from her South Dublin home on June 2. Gardaí believe the chef in her late 50s as killed during an argument in which she was struck over the head with a blunt instrument.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Wexford last night in connection with the murder. A Garda spokeswoman said:

“As part of this ongoing murder investigation, a man is his early 30s was arrested late this evening in Wexford and is currently detained in Garda custody.”
