Woman ‘Lay Unconcious For 9 Hours’ Following Assault in Irish Town

A woman lay unconscious for nine hours following a serious assault in Carlow at the weekend.

An investigation has been launched after the woman was discovered at Pollerton Castle in Carlow at lunchtime on Sunday.

According to Independent.ie, the woman was assaulted shortly after 4am on Sunday morning and lay unconscious on the grounds of the castle for several hours.

The local woman is believed to have suffered head injuries and is being treated at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who has any additional information or who may have been in the area at the time to get in contact.
