If you think your health insurance now is putting you out of pocket, things are about to get worse.
The Irish Independent reports that the average annual cost of private health insurance premiums is set to double to €2,400 in the next decade
Ireland's generation is getting older and older as medicine and lifestyles progress, there's now more than 540,000 people over the age of 65.
The chief executive of Irish Life Health, Jim Dowdall, warned that this is one of the main factors behind the upcoming hike in health insurance costs.
"It is a wake-up call now to take action," Jim said.
A health insurance package that cost €700 in 2007 is now around €2,000.
