Boojum Is Running An Unreal Competition To Pay Your Rent For A Year

Sarah Finnan

Students, listen up because this could be your golden ticket.

I have to say that usually, the only association I make between Boojum and students is the burrito store’s unreal student deal. For Galway students, Spanish Arch (Sparch to locals) is synonymous with Boojum and having a burrito by the water is a rite of passage.

Well, it seems that Boojum wants to go one step further and pay one lucky Irish student’s rent. For a whole year. Their PayMyRent campaign does exactly what it says on the tin and will give broke college-goers the chance to have their rent taken care of for the year.

The campaign aims to highlight the financial woes that students face on a daily basis; what with college fees, the cost of class materials and of course the ever-increasing prices of rent.

Keep your eyes peeled for mock ‘To Let’ signs around Dublin which give details of the competition. The chain has also modelled two of its restaurant windows on an Estate Agent window, with listings as low as €0. Very clever.

According to Managing Director David Maxwell, “we’re on the side of students…increasing rent really is one of the biggest issues for them and is a distraction they don’t need. That’s the thinking behind this promotion; if we can help one student this year by taking the pressure of rent off their mind, then we’ve done something positive”.

Find out more about the competition here.

Just another reason to love Boojum.
