Ireland’s Dream Hotels — The Residence

seank

Sometimes you just want a weekend away with zero hassle, but even a holiday can sometimes be stressful.

Long car journeys, finding things to do, the expense — staying at home can start to look more appealing.

But if you want a low-effort trip that’ll leave you feeling revitalised, why not try the The Residence in Galway?

Here’s the lowdown.

In the heart of historic Galway

Situated in central Galway right next to the River Corrib, the three-star hotel is just a five-minute walk from the train and bus station.

The 20-room boutique hotel, which used to be Carmelite Convent, is perfectly placed in the city’s Latin Quarter and is surrounded by cobbled streets and medieval structures like the nearby Spanish Arch, which dates all the way back to 1584.

With cafés, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep, the hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the small, charming city of Galway.

Kicking back

Central to a relaxing weekend is a comfortable bedroom — which shouldn’t be a problem here.

The Residence’s rooms boast vibrant colours and features to make you feel right at home, like access to your Netflix account on a 40” Sony Bavaria Smart TV.

You can even enjoy some champagne while you soak in the tub with your favourite book…

Live a little

You’re on holidays, so you may as well treat yourself to a few cheeky beverages.

If you’re not in the mood for straying too far from your cosy bed, you should make the short trip to The Residence Hotel Bar. In this inviting space you’ll find open fires, wonderful oak wall panelling, leather upholstered furniture, and live music seven nights a week.

If you want to explore the surrounding area for your grub and pub needs, you’ll find some of the best tapas in the Ireland at the nearby Cava Bodega, enjoy award-winning seafood ar Kirwan’s Lane, or sup on a few sociable ones at the popular An Púcán.

So many options, so little time…

A slow-paced break

After a easy-going weekend of wandering, eating, drinking and chilling, you should be able to return to the real world with a spring in your step.

Though we can’t promise you’ll want to.

Will you be paying The Residence a visit?
