Ireland’s Paralympic medal count continues to rise as Dunlevy and McCrystal take the gold!

Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal have claimed their second medal at Tokyo – and this time it’s gold!

The legendary ParaCycling duo took the gold in the Women’s B Time Trial with a time of just 47.32.07.

This is the second massive win for Dunlevy and McCrystal at this years games – over the weekend they broke a world record and won a silver medal in the B 3000m Individual Pursuit. Winning big is nothing new for this slick tandem duo, they’ve been amongst the top competitors in the world since their gold and silver medal winning performances in Rio back in 2016.

Their win is a continuation of a hugely successful streak for Irish Paralympians at this years games – hand-cyclist Gary O’ Reilly secured a bronze medal this morning in the H5 Time Trial, over the weekend Derry runner Jason Smyth earned his sixth Paralympic medal in the 100m final, Dublin swimmer Ellen Keane took the gold after her incredible performance in the 100m breaststroke, Laois native Nicole Turner meanwhile took the silver in the 50m butterfly and warmed the hearts of the nation with her iconic post swim interview.

Massive successes all round for Team Ireland!
