Six great Cork City pubs to watch the match in this weekend

Fiona Frawley

This Sunday we’ll see the Cork hurling team take on hot favourites Limerick, who’ll be looking to secure their third All-Ireland title in four years.

But we all love an underdog, and no doubt there’ll be some buzz throughout the rebel county as the Cork team enjoy a spot in the final for the first time since 2013. Right, that’s about the extent of my sporting knowledge. Let’s get down to something I actually DO know about – pubs. Here’s a list of some great spots across Cork City to watch the match in this Sunday.

The Courtyard, Sober Lane

There’s a massive screen in the outdoor area of the Courtyard which will be showing the game. Queueing for a spot starts from 2:30pm and tables will be allotted on a first come first served basis.

Reardens, Washington Street

Get booking ASAP for a place at Reardens for the match! There’ll be a gorge buzz at this Washington Street spot.

Clancy’s, Princes Street

If you can’t get a book in there’ll be walk in spots also available at Clancy’s, along with a delish menu and Cork-inspired cocktails.

Costigans, Washington Street

No better place to soak up the match day vibes than in one of the city’s oldest pubs.
